The Energy Commission banned the importation of 18 additional items, including subpar fans and TVs.

A restriction on the importing of some subpar electrical equipment and renewable energy items has been declared by the Energy Commission.

According to a statement from the Energy Commission, the prohibition is intended to stop Ghana from becoming a popular destination for subpar and old equipment as well as to save the economy by lowering the demand for energy, which calls for more generating capacity and the accompanying fuel costs.

The restriction, according to the commission, is intended to preserve the environment and residents' health from air pollution brought on by increasing energy production as well as to shield consumers from making inappropriate appliance purchases and paying excessively expensive electricity bills.

The Commission asked everyone to take notice and stop importing such items, especially electrical appliance importers and potential producers.
