The Ghana Education Service (GES) has requested the urgent submission of the names of all Junior High School (JHS) 1 to JHS 3 students, both in public and private schools, for an important exercise.
In a letter dated on 23rd March, 2023 addressed to the Metro/Municipal/District Directors of Education, the GES requested that the names be collected as per the 2022 EMIS census data and submitted to the Director-General via this email: schoolsandinstructions@ges.gov.gh by April 7th, 2023.

Heads of Basic schools have been directed to comply with the GES directives by submitting the names of their students without fail to their respective Metro/Municipal/District Directorates as quickly as possible for onward submission to the GES Headquarters.

Regional Directors of Education have been requested to communicate this information to the Metro/Municipal/District Directors of Education to ensure that all Heads of Basic Schools are informed and that the data is submitted within the stipulated time.
Also, this exercise is a crucial part of the GES’s efforts to improve the quality of education in Ghana. The collection and submission of student names will aid in the proper planning and allocation of resources to various schools.
With accurate data on the number of students in each school, the GES can ensure that resources such as textbooks, teaching materials, and infrastructure are distributed fairly and efficiently.
